Looking For A Fun Photoshoot Location With Your Dog?
Cole The Kelpie Struts HIs Stuff At Raeburn Orchards
Raeburn Orchards is located in the Perth Hills and offers a beautiful spot to create treasured memories with your beloved dog especially during the Autumn months.
If you’re stuck on locations to shoot in during the cooler months, then make sure to check out this popular spot in the Perth HIlLs - the best part is that you can bring your dogs too!
During the colder months the beaches around Perth aren’t really a ‘go to’ location for those wanting to update their photos. For most people, when we think about the beach, we think hot sunny days and balmy nights, and jumping into the ocean is totally acceptable. But contrary to the belief that Perth is hot year round, it’s actually gets quite cold, and we do get into the single degree digits.
So where else can you book a photo session if not the beach?
Raeburn Orchards is a popular location for business owners, couples and families to head to any time of the year, to take photos and have picnics, but more often than not its during Spring and Autumn when these Orchards see the most foot traffic, and for good reason too! The best part about these orchards, is that your beloved furbaby is allowed to enter the grounds with you.
During the Spring - typically the beginning of September, the rows and rows of plum trees produce soft and oh so pretty pink and white blossoms. And during Autumn - typically in May, the lanes of persimmon trees come alive with bold colours of reds, oranges and yellows.
I met Cole the Kelpie and his owner up here last month while the colours were still going strong and we had such a great time! I absolutely loved how Cole’s caramel colouring blended so perfectly with the scenery.
While taking your dog off lead on the premises is not advised, we had chosen to shoot on a weekday, knowing that it wouldn’t be busy and we tucked ourselves well away from anyone else who was in fact also visiting the orchards. Cole also had excellent recall, not that we had to use it, his ball did all the talking we ever needed. As soon as we were done we put the lead back on Cole and everyone was good as gold.
You do need to know that booking a session at Raeburn Orchards does bring with it an additional fee charged by the orchards. It’s an extra $60 for an hour, plus $5 per person. Your doggo is free of charge though. In saying that, after seeing the photos below from our session with Cole, I think you could say that it’s well worth it for some stand out portraits like this!
