What To Expect After Your Photography Session.

My editing, viewing & ordering process after your pet photography session.

So we’ve just spent the last hour or so together either in a studio or out in the open during sunset. Your pup caused a little bit of chaos, nothing that we couldn’t handle, and you just feel good knowing that the session is over. But now what??

Perth Pet photographer shares her process of what happens after a photo session. She sits there smiling at the camera with her laptop open on her lap.

What to expect after your pet photography session including the processes and approximate wait times until you can see & order your images.

From the moment you first contact me, I’m already doing a little happy dance inside knowing that you’re at least considering working with me - and if you do book, well that happy dance makes its way onto the dance floor!

When you book with me, you can use me for all things location advice, wardrobe/accessory advice, how best to prep your pet for the session and of course printing and framing guidance.

After a possibly chaotic (because dogs can be just like toddlers sometimes), but mostly fun-loving session, you jump into your car and as you’re driving home you’ll be so excited and curious to see what images we actually managed to capture together.

I can tell you now, we got some epic shots and it’ll only be a short 2 week wait before you get to see the evidence.

After your session, I go home, pour myself a bevy (depending on the time of day, it may or may not contain alcohol) and I start the huge process of uploading your images, backing them up and then scrolling straight to a fave image that I know I have, ready to edit it straight away. If you follow along with me on Instagram, you may see this sneak peek show up in my stories within 48 hours after our session.

And then I begin the big cull...

If you’ve ever taken 20 photos in a row of your dog on your phone (who am I kidding?! Of course you have), when you just wanted 2 or 3 to share, then you’ll understand how big this culling task can be - to an extent anyway.

During a session I can take anywhere between 300 and 500 odd photos depending on how many subjects I’m actually photographing and our location, so culling and selecting only the best images for you to view is a big deal! I aim to pull together between 30 and 50 images for you to initially view. When you view these images they will have a basic colour edit and crop applied to them which will then be finalised upon selection.

Dog photographer captures a chocolate labrador sitting between the legs of an adult wearing light blue jeans. You can only see the legs of the adults, the other adult wears a darker jean. They stand in front of a white brick house at Perrys Paddock.

When the images are ready to view, we will either arrange for an online gallery to be sent to your email address, or we will meet in a local Perth studio where I can personally share with you the best of the bunch. I’ll help you to pick your faves and decide how you would like them printed including sizing and materials.

The finalising of your images can again take up to 2 weeks depending on how many images were purchased. The finalising of images is a much more detailed process and where possible, this is also where the removal of leads and distractions will take place, but this will also get discussed in detail with you when you select your images, so you will be well aware of what to expect in the final edit. Once I’m absolutely happy with the images, I’ll send you any digitals that may have been a part of your package you purchased and from there I’ll order up your big picture prints ready to hang on the wall.

All that’s left to do from here, is wait for delivery day when you can come and collect your wall art!

Forever remember the tiny floof that could fit in your lap, or the boisterous tail-whipping loon that raced about your backyard. I love creating photographs and big picture prints that take you back to a moment in your fur-baby's life every time you land eyes on them.

Heeey!

I'm Chanelle from Chanelle Megan Photography and I’m your pet and family photographer if you're located in or around Perth! I help you by capturing joyful and genuine images of those that steal your heart. Together, we then choose the best ones to print big for your wall or compact in an album for your coffee table, so that you can always feel their warmth and love even when they’re not around.
